OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is the process of creating editable files from image files. Our electronic document processing solution uses OCR, OMR and ICR recognition engines allowing us to accurately capture typed, handwritten, barcode and tick box information in a matter of seconds, after the conversion process the data can then be extracted to Excel, Access, Word, PDF, TXT or any required format.
The OCR accuracy depends upon the quality of the original document and printed text quality. Manual verification post OCR depends upon quality of input. If your documents have tables, we can also OCR the text from your tables. Pictures, graphics and drawing objects can also be formatted within your OCR document. So at completion your OCR document would appear exactly the same as the original document and now you can edit or search the document by it's contents.
OCR recognition technology has improved considerably over the past few years and we have consistently developed the necessary expertise and capacity to take full advantage of this technology. In some cases, OCR provides an alternative to data keying, or can be part of a mixed keying/OCR process.
